(Firstly, as just a little side note, i have no idea whether or not the dates are correct. They are approximatley right for the passing of both Lady and Jodie, but i'm not incredibly certain as both we're my grandmas pets, not mine.)
Lady & Jodie: The tale of two best friends
*ℓ α ∂ у *
I remember Lady as an old, fragile dog, but loving in so many ways. I adored stroking her as a young child and in many ways she reminded me of a mother character.
Lady was such a quite and shy little dog, but her trust of the humans around her was clearly apparent.
*× Ïƒ ∂ ι Ñ”*
Unfourtunatly, i can only remember Jodie vaguly. Although i can not base much of this on personal knowledge, i do know that my Jodie was a very wonderful companion to my Grandma, and that they both loved each other very much.
Sadly, both Lady and Jodie passed when i was very young.
Jodie passed over before Lady i think, possibly due to cancer.
I remember she used to get large sores on her legs that made it agonizing for her to walk.
Lady passed after falling down the stairs one night, she was a very old friend.
Although i did not get to know you that well, both of you have certainly left an imprint on my heart, and i shall always remember you and the joy your brought to Grandma's life.
Grandma misses you both so much.
Very often she will call her other pets by your names.
It makes me happy knowing that she regularly still keeps you on her mind.
Lady and Jodie were the best of friends. They grew up together and spent their lives together. It's comforting to know that they have each other up there in doggy heaven, probably running around chasing after leaves blowing in the wind.
Rest in peace Lady and Jodie

When the Time Comes
John Quealy
Lord, when the time comes please help me be strong
My furry friend is sick; something's terribly wrong
The vet checked her over; there's nothing he can do
I'm afraid soon I'll be sending her; home to You
Please take her back home; on the wings of a dove
Into Your loving arms; up in heaven above
Take her to a meadow; where she can play and run free
Under bright sunlight; among the green grass and trees
She's been a part of my life now; for so many years
I'll miss her so much; my eyes are filling with tears
Please give me the courage; to tell her good-bye
As I know She'll watch over me; through her loving eyes
I'll never forget her; I'll see her one day
Tell her we'll meet at the Bridge; then we'll go play
I'll cherish the memories; of the time we both had
they'll put a smile on my face; then I won't feel as bad

I’m Still Here
Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I’ll never wander out of your sight-
I’m the brightest star on a summer’s night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach-
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.
I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring,
The first warn raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you’ll see that the face in the moon shine is mine.
When you start thinking there’s no one to love you,
you can talk to through the Lord up above you.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face.
Just look for me friend, I’m every place!

The love held in your heart
Captivates me from the start
Holding you in my arms
You lick my face with all your charm
Watching you as days go by
You quickly grow, I wonder why
That you are given so little time
To live on earth and be all mine
Years pass by, you run and play
I know one day you cannot stay
For time takes a lasting toll
One day you’ll have a new role
To leave the world and be set free
I know you will be watching me
With a saddened heart I will go on
Because of you I can sing a song
The day has come to say goodbye
Holding you, I start to cry
Memories come rushing in
Of how you’ve been my best friend
Losing you, I will go on
You worry that I’m not that strong
Because of you my life was blessed
And filled with so much happiness
Thank you, my 4 legged friend
In due time my heart will mend
A part of me, you’ll always be
My friend for all eternity

MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND
The sun is still rising behind a grey curtain,
And the cold autumn grass drips with spider-web dew,
Darkness is falling each day ever earlier,
Without thinking, I still look for you.
I never had to look too far to find you,
Wherever I was then I knew you’d be near,
You didn’t need words to tell me you loved me,
The music was easy to hear.
History took us on a long ride together,
Down through the years countless days without end,
Now I have to travel without you beside me,
And I miss you, my beautiful friend.
You filled my days with the joy of your presence,
It shattered my heart to set your soul free,
But somewhere I know at the end of this journey,
In the sunshine, you’re waiting for me.
Memories warm but they don’t take your place,
And the dreams only fill me with pain in the end,
But we’ll have forever to walk in the garden,
Me and my beautiful friend.

What a beautiful special two,
over the years loved and hugged,
cared for, laughed at antics, just loved!
memories that will live forever.
Great joy you gave, Lady and Jodie
part of the family always, with love
you now travel the beautiful universe,
leaving wonderful memories for us here.
One day a meeting with special loved ones,
a fantastic bark, and a wag of the tail,
then together forever and ever
never to be parted again.

LADY AND jODIE XXXXX
They come into our lives for such a short time-a time we wouldn't trade not even for a dime.
Then before you know it the years have flown byand then all of a sudden we're saying good-bye.
It wasn't that long ago we said our good-byes.We held on to you tight as you closed your eyes.
Your spirit has flown home on the wings of a doveinto God's loving arms; in heaven above.
Over the days we've shed many tearsbut the memories we have will live on for years.
We feel your presence and we know that you are nearYou're keeping us safe and calming our fears.
We think about memories from years pastwhen you were young and strong and ran so fast.
We remember all the great times that we all had.How you always made us happy never made us mad.
They were the best and happiest years we had. We'll always look back on them and never be sad.
We look forward to the time we'll be together againand we thank the Lord for such a great friend
Now you run and play up in Heaven abovecradled in God's arms covered with his love.
Playing by the Bridge waiting for the daywe come down through the meadow to the bridge to stay.
The love that you showed us we'll never forgetbecause to us you're one very special pet.
You're like a star in the dark of nightalways watching over us with the Lord's light.
So now we take time to remember our best friendwho will always be with us even to the end.
We'll always remember you the way you were-one big lovable, huggable pile of fur.

Wings of Flight
by Sharon Kortas
When all was quiet
And we were sad
Thinking of the
Times we'd had
A butterfly
Then came to us
Flew around
Without a rush
Showed us how
She'd been set free
Drifting off
Where we can't see
Helped us know
She's on her way
We'll treasure this
Each passing day.
If you've ever known the joyful sound
Of barks that fill the air-
A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw,
A quiet adoring stare-
If you've ever had a special friend
To share a tear or two,
Or maybe just a wagging tail
To lift you when you're blue-
If you've ever felt the wrenching pain
That only death can send,
Then you have lost
Not just a dog-
You've truly lost a friend.
But God is good and treasures love
And there at Heaven's gate-
A sloppy kiss, a joyful bark-
Your precious friend awaits"
